Product Designer

SoundCloud is the world's leading social audio platform, allowing everyone to discover unique content anytime, anywhere. We enrich people's lives through the shared love of sound. We're looking for a Product Designer to join our team in Berlin.

The Role

You'll work in close collaboration with other Designers, Engineers and Product Managers to help us develop holistic ideas about features and products. We expect you to take ownership of your features from early strategy and concept phase to the final implementation and iteration. In addition you'll be driving the communication to align expectations within the team and other stakeholders of the product.

About You

You are a seasoned product designer and a great storyteller. You speak the language of users and are able to define their journey through a system from start to finish. When thinking about design you consider the entire experience rather than only screens. You've navigated the complexities of software development organizations, and can facilitate discussions to challenge assumptions, give critical feedback, and create consensus. Most importantly, you're an excellent communicator, creative problem solver, and someone who is ready to dive into a dynamic environment to drive design. In addition to being passionate about technology and designing products that millions of people love, you're enthusiastic about SoundCloud and the music space.

Requirements

• Strong online portfolio that demonstrates your process and ability to turn ideas into a convincing and unique creative vision.
• 5+ years designing user experiences and interaction design for digital consumer products (with at least 3+ years designing mobile apps)
• You see communication as a big part of your daily work. You're not only interested in input from developers, users and everybody else, but you're able to ask questions, give feedback and critique your peers design solutions.
• Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations
• Holistic understanding of design. You're eager to understand the underlying problem and are able to work out concepts and ideas that are addressing the real issues.
• You enjoy working on a product from start to end and you won't res't until an excellent and solid feature can be shipped.
• You are able to quickly draft multiple iterations for an idea with sketches, wireframes, and storyboards
• Bonus: background in prototyping, visual/ui, and motion design
